State Coroner was an Australian television series screened on Network Ten in 1997 and 1998. There were two series produced with a total of 29 episodes. The series was set in the State Coroner's office complex and featured investigations into deaths, murders, suicides, accidents and natural causes. The drama begins from the initial inquiry through to the courtroom appearances, the Coroner's final verdict and recommendations for trial or reform.

A trickster and an 8-year-old girl are in constant conflict.

Thanks to his 3rd term congressman father-in-law, Kyung-suk is a strong candidate to become the next mayor. In order to hide his father-in-law's slush fund, he heads toward a cottage that is under his wife’s name. He arrives there with his mistress Ji-young only to be greeted by a young man named Soon-tae who claims to be the groundskeeper of the cottage. Kyung-suk is nervous that his affair might be exposed and all he wants to do is hide the money and get out but he is framed for drunk driving and robbery, and gets into a hit-and-run accident. Out of desperation, he tries to flee but Soon-tae approaches him and mentions his congressman father-in-law and his wife, as if it was part of his plan, and drags Kyung-suk into a corner...

Over several days and nights, an actor and an actress read the correspondence between Torcuato and Kamala, the film director's parents, he from Argentina, and she from India. The letters, encompassing the decades from the 50s to the 70s, refer to love and idealism, record world travels, talk about socialism and psychoanalysis, about pain and broken dreams. Their reading reveals a relationship between the actors, with similarities and differences. Meanwhile, with his own daughter, the director sets about solving the puzzle of the family memory, an intimate twentieth-century tale.

In order to raise money and win the love of Bianca, the owner of the funeral parlour accepts his friend's proposal to take part in a Texas hold 'em tournament. However, the pair need a loan.
